Gundam Assemble: Hands-On With Mobile Suit Gundam’s Miniatures Tabletop Game
Gundam Assemble brings Mobile Suit Gundam into miniature tabletop gaming with a starter set designed for shorter, accessible battles. Its snap-together models and straightforward rules aim to make it easier for newcomers to get started, though fixed poses limit customisation and painting the tiny figures can still take time.
The RX-78-2 in the starter set has a beam-saber pose, while a Paint Pack version carries a beam rifle. Models can be left unpainted or painted with water-based acrylics, and the instructions include a painting guide. The game is available this autumn, with further sets and expansions planned for early next year.
In short
- Gundam Assemble offers bite-size tabletop battles.
- Snap-together models lower the building barrier.
- Painting is optional, but details are small.
