Guns N’ Roses “have so much material” for first album since 2008, confirms Slash

Far Out ·

Slash says Guns N’ Roses have a large amount of material to organise and develop, raising hopes that the band could work towards releasing more music. Their last studio album was 2008’s *Chinese Democracy*, and recent singles have come from that album’s era rather than being entirely new recordings.

The band is due to finish its world tour with dates in Asia and Oceania before taking a break next year. Slash says working on the band’s material requires time together and is difficult while touring, although he finds writing on the road easy. During the break, he plans to release and tour with Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators.

  • Slash says Guns N’ Roses have extensive material to sort through.
  • The band’s last studio album came out in 2008.
  • Slash plans a 2027 album and tour with his other band.

Guns N’ Roses are an American rock band whose best-known line-up includes singer Axl Rose and guitarist Slash. They became one of the biggest acts in rock in the late 1980s, with songs such as “Sweet Child o’ Mine” and “November Rain”.

Their last studio album, Chinese Democracy, came out in 2008 after a long and difficult recording process. Slash rejoined the band in 2016 after years apart, and the group has since released a handful of singles, some developed from older recordings. A new album would be its first in many years.
