The Gentlemen, Guy Ritchie's Netflix crime drama, has returned for a second season that has topped the streaming charts despite viewership falling sharply compared with its debut run. The series, a spin-off of Ritchie's 2020 film of the same name, is the latest success in a busy year for the director, following the Prime Video prequel Young Sherlock and the poorly received cinema release In the Grey. Season 2's strong critical reception has not translated into the same audience numbers as before, though it remains Netflix's most-watched title worldwide.

Season 2 launched last Friday and recorded 6.7 million views in its opening days, down 45% from the 12.2 million views the first season achieved on debut in 2024. The drop comes despite improved reviews, with critics on Rotten Tomatoes giving the new season 82%, up from 75% for the first outing. None of the characters from Ritchie's original film appear in the television adaptation.
