Shudder has announced V/H/S/MIXTAPE, the ninth instalment in its long-running found-footage horror anthology series, which will centre on music and sound as sources of terror. The film brings together an unusually eclectic roster of directors and musicians, including Wu-Tang Clan's RZA, veteran filmmaker Ernest Dickerson, David Moreau and Renee Zhan, whose segment features original puppets built by Jim Henson's Creature Shop. The project matters as a notable expansion of the franchise's ambition, blending genre filmmaking with high-profile music-world talent to explore how rhythm and audio can haunt and destroy.

Alongside the directed segments, Flying Lotus has created music video interludes for the anthology, shock-rock band GWAR make a featured appearance, and Ghost frontman Tobias Forge makes his directorial debut with a new music video. According to Shudder's press release, the film combines cosmic horror, psychological suspense and practical effects into what is billed as "one unforgettable mixtape of nightmares". V/H/S/MIXTAPE is set to begin streaming on Shudder from 9 October 2026.
