Segers had been announced on 29 July as part of a new principal cast due to begin performances on 1 September, cast as Hades opposite Amber Iman as Persephone, Jasmin Savoy Brown as Eurydice, Kayko as Orpheus and Norbert Leo Butz as Hermes. His stage credits include Mufasa in the Australian production of Disney's The Lion King and New York City Center Encores!'s On the Town, while his television work includes Pair of Kings and Banshee. He did not respond to requests for comment on his departure.
