Hailey Bieber Details Emotional Rollercoaster of PMDD Diagnosis After Son Jack Blues’ Birth: ‘Just a Really Intense and Special Journey’
Hailey Bieber says she experienced symptoms of premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) during pregnancy and after giving birth to her son, Jack Blues. She has spoken publicly about the condition to help women feel less alone and to draw attention to gaps in discussion and research on women’s health.
Bieber said she was diagnosed six months after Jack’s birth in August 2024, and that her symptoms felt more intense than the premenstrual symptoms she had experienced before. PMDD can include severe mood changes in the week before menstruation, and Bieber said some feelings eased once her period began. Her cosmetics company, Rhode, has announced a three-year, $5 million partnership with the Foundation for Women’s Health to support research, education and care.
