Hairdryers with ‘high risk of electric shock’ are urgently recalled by budget supermarket Aldi
Aldi has recalled its Ambiano Ionic Hairdryer after being warned that a fault could create a high risk of electric shock or fire. Customers are advised to stop using the appliance immediately and return it to an Aldi store for a full refund.
The £12 hairdryer, model 849855, was sold in Aldi stores in August and September 2025 as a budget alternative to the roughly £250 Dyson Supersonic. Its power cord may become damaged over time, potentially exposing live parts or causing overheating. The recall covers black, white, yellow and orange versions with specified barcodes; the product does not meet UK electrical safety regulations.
