Halide adds camera controls tailored to iPhone Duo’s three positions

Engadget ·

Halide developer Lux Optics has released an update designed for Apple’s foldable iPhone Duo, showing how third-party apps can adapt to its dual screens and different positions. The changes give users camera controls suited to the device’s three poses, including a way to use the partly open phone as a waist-level viewfinder.

The update lets users move the controls when the Duo is fully or partly open. It is available now to Halide Mark III users, and Lux Optics says more Duo-focused features are in development.

In short

  • Halide’s update adapts its camera app to the iPhone Duo.
  • Controls can shift to suit the phone’s open positions.
  • The partly open Duo can serve as a waist-level viewfinder.
