Halo: Campaign Evolved studio outlines five key updates that’ll drop with next week’s big patch

Eurogamer · 3 hours ago

Halo: Campaign Evolved will receive a major patch between 17 and 21 August, addressing several player-reported issues since launch. The update is significant because it aims to prevent mission progression being blocked, improve combat behaviour and add requested visual settings, while also improving stability across platforms.

The five headline changes improve Sgt. Johnson’s AI, make Jackals easier to stagger by shooting their hands or feet, and allow Marines and Flood Marines to use Assault Rifles when the Magnified Skull is active. Players will be able to disable chromatic aberration and film grain, and the patch includes further stability fixes; however, all mid-mission saves will become invalid once it is installed. Eurogamer also notes the game reportedly underperformed on PS5, while Halo Studios is expected to continue work on a teased Halo 2 remake.

  • Major Halo patch is due between 17 and 21 August.
  • It fixes progression, combat behaviour, visuals and stability.
  • Mid-mission saves will be invalidated after installation.
