Explained simply
The Hamptons International Film Festival is an annual film event held in New York State. It brings together audiences and people who make films for screenings and discussions, and its dates place it among a busy run of autumn festivals that includes Toronto, Venice, Telluride and the New York Film Festival.
Film festivals can help independent films find audiences and give new work attention during the period when many films are considered for awards. Conversations with cast and filmmakers offer audiences a chance to hear about how films were made, while festival honours recognise contributions to the industry.
