Hanover Way in Sheffield city centre was closed southbound because of an ongoing police incident, with the closure affecting the route towards the morning rush hour. The nature of the incident was not known, but police had cordoned off the road and the closure remained in place.

The closure began at about 3.45am between Glossop Road and the Moore Street roundabout. Inrix confirmed the A61 southbound closure at 6.05am, while traffic was reported to be coping well despite the disruption.
