‘Hanuman Ansh’ Indian Sleeper Hit’s International Distribution Strategy Unveiled by ‘K.G.F,’ ‘Kantara’ Outfit Hombale Films (EXCLUSIVE)
Indian devotional film “Hanuman Ansh” has become an international sleeper hit, earning more than $3.5 million outside India after Hombale Films assumed global distribution. The company, known for “K.G.F” and “Kantara”, said it secured rights across territories and worked with major local partners to target suitable markets and cinema chains.
The film opened internationally on 11 September, with North America generating $1.8 million, followed by Australia and New Zealand with $606,716 and the Gulf region with $577,870. Made for about INR2 crore, it expanded from 250 Indian screens to more than 2,000 through word of mouth, earning INR340.7 crore domestically in seven weeks; it is planned as the first instalment of a trilogy.
