HarbourView Equity Partners has acquired producer David Kershenbaum's interest in producer royalties and related rights across a catalogue of recordings he produced, most notably Tracy Chapman's Fast Car. The deal, announced on 3 September, is the latest in a string of acquisitions that has helped push HarbourView's assets under management towards $4 billion, underscoring the continued investor appetite for music royalty catalogues from established producers as well as songwriters and artists.

The acquisition covers royalties from several Chapman tracks, including Baby Can I Hold You, Talkin' Bout a Revolution and Crossroads, as well as work by Joe Jackson and Marc Cohn's Walking in Memphis; financial terms were not disclosed. HarbourView reported roughly $3.88 billion in regulatory AUM as of 31 December 2025, up from $2.67 billion a year earlier and $1.5 billion in April 2024, with a catalogue now spanning around 41,000 songs. The firm, launched in 2021, has also recently acquired Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins' producer royalties and assets from the Quincy Jones estate.
