Deadline · 2 hours ago

Broadway's 25 productions closed out the summer season with steady takings for the week ending 6 September, buoyed by Labor Day tourism, as every show reported a gain over the previous week. The strongest improvement came from Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, which added $240,630 to its weekly gross as Tom Felton continued his return from a break, underlining how star casting continues to drive ticket sales even late in the season.

Total weekly gross reached $26,258,361, up 2% week-on-week and about 4% higher than the same point last year, with attendance of 220,836 roughly flat on the previous week but up 3% year-on-year. Hamilton, Just In Time and Oh, Mary! all sold out, while Hamilton also topped the earnings chart at $2,187,028 and commanded the highest average ticket price of $204.66, against a Broadway-wide average of $118.90. Season-to-date, the seven-month-old 2026-27 season has grossed $489,296,981, down about 5% on last year, though attendance is down just 1%.

  • Broadway grosses rose 2% week-on-week over the Labor Day holiday.
