HBO's "Harry Potter" television adaptation has hit a delay ahead of Season 2 production, with scripts for "The Chamber of Secrets" reportedly still unfinished and unsigned off. According to The Sun, filming has been pushed back to October so that studio executives can ensure "the plot and characterisations" meet their standards, marking a fresh setback for the closely watched series as it prepares to follow its Christmas Day Season 1 premiere.

Season 2 has already added notable cast members, including Billy Barratt as Tom Riddle, Lenny Rush as Dobby and Bonnie Hill as Ginny Weasley, alongside Kit Harington, who replaces Nicholas Hoult as Gilderoy Lockhart following the latter's scheduling conflicts. Warner Bros. and HBO have not yet commented on the reported delay. Season 1, led by Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter alongside Paapa Essiedu, Janet McTeer, Nick Frost and John Lithgow, wrapped filming this spring and has already broken HBO records, with its first trailer amassing 277 million organic views within 48 hours.
