‘Harry Potter’ Series Finds Its Lily & James Potter In Jasper Talbot & Hannah Chinn; Harry Gilby To Play Charlie Weasley

HBO’s Harry Potter series has cast Jasper Talbot as James Potter, Hannah Chinn as Lily Potter and Harry Gilby as Charlie Weasley. The casting adds Harry’s parents and another member of the Weasley family to the adaptation, though the size of James and Lily’s roles has not been disclosed.

In the first book, James and Lily are killed by Voldemort, and Lily’s sacrifice protects baby Harry, leaving him with his lightning-shaped scar. The series begins with Dominic McLaughlin as Harry discovering Hogwarts; Arabella Stanton and Alastair Stout play Hermione and Ron. Francesca Gardiner is writing and executive producing, while Mark Mylod will direct multiple episodes.
