HAWTHORNE HEIGHTS Signs With THRILLER RECORDS, Shares New Single ‘Carry Me’
Ohio post-hardcore band Hawthorne Heights has signed with Thriller Records and released “Carry Me”, the first single from the partnership. The signing marks a new label chapter for the band, while the song signals a heavier, angrier direction that Woodruff says still reflects their identity.
Frontman JT Woodruff says the track grew from a guitar riff and draws on his long-standing interest in heavy music. Its lyrics reflect grief after losing both parents, feelings of being overwhelmed, and anger at the pressures of constant technology and online comparison, while retaining a sense of hope. The band formed in Dayton in 2001 and is known for blending post-hardcore with melodic emo and punk.
