Developing story first seen 3 hours ago
Melbourne hardcore band Haywire have signed to Roadrunner Records and announced their second album, 'I Don't Wanna Say Goodbye', due for release on 2 October. The record follows their 2024 debut 'CONDITIONED FOR DEMOLITION' and marks a significant step up for the band, whose rapid rise over the past 18 months has been capped by a major label deal.
The album was produced by Mat Kerekes of Citizen and mixed by Taylor Young, and its lead single, 'Interstate Love Affair', is out now. To support the release, Haywire will spend the coming months on the road, including support slots with Circle Jerks and Turnstile, plus festival appearances such as Riot Fest, Louder Than Life, Aftershock, Furnace Fest and the Vans Warped Tour revival, running from September through to a Vans Warped Tour date on 15 November in Orlando.

Melbourne hardcore act Haywire have been building momentum fast, releasing their debut album 'CONDITIONED FOR DEMOLITION' only in 2024 before quickly attracting wider attention on the live circuit. Their profile has grown further through festival bookings and support tours, culminating in a deal with Roadrunner Records, a label with a long history of signing rock and metal acts.
The band's rise matters within the hardcore and heavier rock scene because a major label deal of this kind is often seen as a marker of a group moving from underground favourites to a wider commercial platform. It typically brings greater resources for recording, promotion and touring, and can introduce a band to audiences beyond its original fanbase.
The upcoming record involves notable collaborators from within the wider rock and hardcore community, including a producer with his own recognised band and an established mixing engineer, reflecting the connections and reputation Haywire have built in a short space of time.
