Haywire’s Video for ‘Flex Your Head’ Documents Their Times Square Siege
Boston hardcore band Haywire have released a video of their unauthorised performance of “Flex Your Head” in Times Square. The footage captures the band playing amid a crowd before police ended the set, bringing their unconventional approach to live shows into one of New York’s busiest public spaces.
The song, from their new album *I Don’t Want to Say Goodbye*, explores community in music and other subcultures, as well as people who adopt those scenes without engaging with them in person. Haywire also played part of “Haywire”, a 2024 track, and fans formed a mosh pit near the M&M’s store. Since forming in 2023, the band played 96 gigs in 101 days across all 50 US states in summer 2025.
