HBO Max Officially Gives Anne Hathaway’s 2026 Thriller a New Streaming Home

Anne Hathaway’s psychological drama *Mother Mary* has found a new audience on HBO Max, where it is among the platform’s ten most-watched films worldwide. The streaming performance gives the film a second wave of attention after a limited cinema release that fell well short of its reported budget.

Directed by David Lowery, the film follows a pop star forced to confront her past and also stars Michaela Coel, Hunter Schafer and FKA Twigs. It earned a 69% score on Rotten Tomatoes and took about $3 million at the box office against a reported $20 million budget.
