Hearts have agreed a deal to sign Laurent Mendy, the captain of English National League side Forest Green Rovers, ending a pursuit that stretched across two transfer windows. The Tynecastle club had a bid rejected in January, but talks have now progressed to personal terms as Hearts continue to strengthen their squad ahead of a busy European fixture schedule.

The 29-year-old French-born midfielder joined Forest Green in 2025 from Macclesfield and made 47 appearances last season. His arrival would mark Hearts' 10th signing of the summer window, with the move being finalised just before the club face Sturm Graz in the first leg of their Champions League second-round qualifier on Tuesday at 19:30 BST.
