Heartstopper star in talks to play Cyclops in MCU X-Men movie

GamesRadar+ · 1 month ago

Kit Connor, best known for starring in Netflix's Heartstopper, has been selected to portray Cyclops in Marvel's upcoming standalone X-Men film. After evaluating multiple candidates, director Jake Schreier and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige finalised the casting last week. Connor joins previously announced cast members Sadie Sink as Jean Grey and Samara Weaving as Emma Frost.

The film will depict the formation of the X-Men team as young mutants enrol at Charles Xavier's school for gifted youngsters. The age disparity between the casting choices—with Weaving in her mid-thirties and Connor and Sink in their early twenties—suggests Emma Frost may lead her own mutant academy before the main characters arrive at Xavier's institution. The project targets a 2028 release as part of Marvel's expanding mutant storylines within its cinematic universe.
