Hello Sunshine’s Head of TV and Film on 10 Years of Reese Witherspoon’s Production Company, ‘Big Little Lies’ Season 3, Apple’s ‘Lucky’ and More ‘Elle’

Hello Sunshine, Reese Witherspoon's production company, is enjoying a busy period as it approaches its 10th anniversary this autumn, with head of TV and film Lauren Neustadter discussing the slate in a new interview. The company has back-to-back high-profile releases this July: the "Legally Blonde" prequel series "Elle" on Amazon Prime Video and the Anya Taylor-Joy-led action miniseries "Lucky" on Apple TV, released just two weeks apart. Neustadter reflected on the company's founding mission of creating opportunities for women both in front of and behind the camera, a principle she says has guided projects from "The Morning Show" to "Little Fires Everywhere".

Looking ahead to 2027, Hello Sunshine has a packed slate including HBO's "Big Little Lies" Season 3, Sony Pictures' "The Nightingale" starring Dakota Fanning and Elle Fanning, and a second season of "Elle", which has already finished filming. Neustadter noted that Hello Sunshine did not exist when the first season of "Big Little Lies" was made in 2017, but the company was brought on board for the second and third seasons, working alongside figures such as writer Jonathan Tropper and "Elle" showrunners Laura Kittrell and Caroline Dries.

  • Hello Sunshine nears its 10th anniversary with a packed 2026-2027 release slate.
  • "Elle" and "Lucky" both premiere in July, two weeks apart.
  • "Big Little Lies" Season 3 and "The Nightingale" are due in 2027.
