Helmet frontman Page Hamilton says he is around 70% through his first solo album, tentatively titled “Companion Peace”, while also preparing a reissue of his “Movie Music Vol. 1” record. The projects may delay another Helmet album, as Hamilton intends to focus on solo and jazz work instead.

Hamilton said former Helmet drummer John Tempesta has recorded on five tracks, while Matt Flynn of Maroon 5 is expected to contribute and bassist Pancho Tomaselli is being approached. Edel/earMUSIC hopes to release “Movie Music Vol. 1” before the end of 2026; Hamilton has also signed a one-album jazz deal with the label, with that release currently expected in 2028. He described the solo material as experimental, using feedback-based guitar soundscapes and influences from his film-score work.
