The nominations for the 2026 Primetime Emmy Awards have been announced across the seven music categories, headlined by Lady Gaga's first-ever Emmy nod for songwriting. Her song "The Dead Dance", written for the Netflix series Wednesday with Andrew Watt and Henry Walter Russell (Cirkut), is up for outstanding original music and lyrics, marking a notable milestone for the pop star, who has previously received four Emmy nominations in other categories.

The same category features South Park co-creator Trey Parker, nominated for "Christian Woman" as part of three nominations this year, and reigning winner Christopher Lennertz, who co-wrote a song for The Boys with Daveed Diggs. Elsewhere, veteran composer Hans Zimmer earned his eighth Emmy nomination for Prehistoric Planet: Ice Age, though he has yet to win a Primetime Emmy despite holding five Grammys and two Oscars. Other nominees include Nora Felder for music supervision on Stranger Things and Michael Bearden for music direction on the Oscars, while Daniel Pemberton, Dave Porter and Jeff Beal each secured double nominations.
