Heritage Live has cancelled all of its planned summer 2026 events across three English estate venues, including major shows by Eric Clapton and Lionel Richie. Organisers said they could not proceed after low ticket sales and a last-minute collapse of an investment package left them unable to guarantee payment of artists, crew and suppliers. The cancellation matters because it affects a high-profile run of outdoor concerts and adds to concerns about the financial pressure facing independent live music promoters in the UK.

The affected venues were Englefield Estate in Berkshire, Audley End Estate in Essex and Sandringham Estate in Norfolk. Scheduled performers included Faithless, Richard Ashcroft, Ministry of Sound Classical, UB40 featuring Ali Campbell, Scissor Sisters, The Streets, Pete Tong presents Ibiza Classics, Christina Aguilera, Janet Jackson and Ricky Martin; Clapton’s Sandringham date on 23 August had been billed as his only UK concert of 2026, with Ronnie Wood as special guest. Heritage Live said a saturated festival market, rising supplier, artist and staffing costs, and the cost-of-living crisis had combined to weaken demand, and told ticket holders to seek refunds through agents including AXS, Ticketmaster, See Tickets, Gigantic, Skiddle and Ticketline.
