Oregon father killed teenage attacker after school shooting claimed four lives

Daily Mail ·

Silver Rail Elementary is a primary school in Bend, a city in the US state of Oregon. The pupils there are young children, and the school also has classrooms for children with additional support needs.

The reported attacker was 16 and had previously attended the school. Kaylub Giamanco, the father of a pupil, was at the school when the shooting began; the account says he entered through a window and confronted the gunman.

The deaths of pupils and a teacher, alongside injuries to others, made this a major community tragedy. Giamanco’s actions have also drawn attention to the role people at the scene can play during an attack.
