Homemade bungee jump ends in tragedy as woman, 21, plunges 50ft into rocks to her death in German quarry
A 21-year-old woman died after jumping from a former quarry in Warstein, Germany, and hitting a rock face when a homemade bungee device failed. Police said there was no indication of foul play and are treating the death as an accident.
The woman was with four or five other climbers at the Hillenberg climbing area on Saturday afternoon. Police said she fell about 15 metres; a 34-year-old man had jumped safely before her, while the rest of the group were unharmed and received counselling.
