Honda will stop selling the Prologue electric SUV in the United States after the 2026 model year, ending its only battery-electric vehicle offering there. The decision underscores the pressure on US electric vehicle sales following the loss of federal incentives and signals that Honda may delay or withhold future EV launches in the market.

Launched in 2024 after being announced in 2021, the GM-developed Prologue was the sixth best-selling EV in the US in its first full year, despite trailing Tesla’s leading models. Honda has also cancelled planned electric sedan and SUV models, while its only remaining US zero-emission option will be the hydrogen-powered CR-V e:FCEV, available solely in California; existing Prologue owners will retain dealer service, parts and warranty support.
