Hong Kong International Film Festival Society has appointed veteran film sales agent and producer Fred Tsui as its next executive director, succeeding Albert Lee. Starting on 23 September, Tsui will lead the society’s major festivals, industry programmes and year-round cinema activities, a role that could shape Hong Kong’s links with the international film sector.

Tsui recently founded Moebius Entertainment, a sales agency and festival consultancy, after more than 20 years at Media Asia Film as general manager and head of international sales and co-production. His career also includes senior roles at PCCW and Asia Television, alongside positions with the Hong Kong Film Development Council and international industry bodies. HKIFFS chairman Wilfred Wong said Tsui’s leadership experience and global relationships made him well placed to strengthen the organisation’s international role.
