Hooters founders’ rise to inspire new feature film
A round-up of film-industry announcements includes a Hooters origin-story film, a new Brad Pitt-led Cliff Booth release, expanded Visual Effects Society awards and a restored re-release of Isaac Mizrahi documentary “Unzipped”.
– “Hooters: The Movie” will dramatise the restaurant chain’s founding, with filming due to begin in November.
– David Fincher’s “The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth” will open in Imax on 25 November before reaching Netflix on 23 December.
– The Visual Effects Society has introduced categories for short-form work, in-camera effects and separate CG cinematography awards.
– Janus Films will re-release the restored 1995 documentary “Unzipped” from 25 September in New York.
