A 15-year-old in Sydney has been charged over allegations that they raped a teenage girl four times across eight months and intentionally choked a boy without consent. The case highlights a recent series of alleged sexual assaults involving teenagers in the Sydney area.

Police arrested the teenager at a home in Sydney’s southern suburbs before charging them with four counts of aggravated sexual assault and one count of intentionally choking someone without consent. The alleged offences took place between December and July; the teenager was granted conditional bail after appearing in a children’s court and is due to return in November. Other teenagers have recently faced charges over separate alleged assaults in Bondi Junction and the Macarthur region.
