Horror-Comedy ‘Bad Karaoke’ Debuts Trailer Ahead of Tubi FrightFest Premiere (EXCLUSIVE)

Variety · 23 hours ago

A new comedy-horror film titled "Bad Karaoke", directed by Chris Lightbody and Robert J. Steinmiller Jr., has released its first trailer ahead of a world premiere at Tubi FrightFest in London. The film follows a wedding band keyboardist who discovers an old karaoke machine that turns deadly when performances go badly, blending musical comedy with slasher-style horror. It adds to a growing slate of genre titles being showcased at the festival this year.

The film is set to premiere on 30 August at the ODEON Luxe West End as part of Tubi FrightFest. Lightbody co-wrote the screenplay with producer Spencer Yaras, and the cast includes Lexi Underwood ("Little Fires Everywhere"), Case Walker ("The Other Two") and singer Kat Cunning ("Trinkets"). The directors said the idea was inspired by their own painful real-life karaoke experiences, which they wanted to turn into a horror premise.
