HoverAir has unveiled the Versa, a compact camera system that combines a handheld three-axis gimbal camera with a detachable drone. Aimed at vloggers, travel creators and filmmakers, it is designed to let users switch quickly between stabilised handheld footage and autonomous aerial filming without needing a controller or piloting experience.

In handheld form, Versa resembles products such as DJI’s Osmo Pocket, with a screen, recording controls and joystick, while HoverAir claims improved dynamic range and low-light performance from a new image processor. Attached to its drone carrier, it can launch from a user’s palm, follow subjects using AI, create 3D reconstructions through a 360-degree flight mode, and offer more than 10 automated flight modes. HoverAir has not yet disclosed core specifications, including sensor size, video resolution, lens details or price.
