How Becoming a First-Time Dog Dad Changed Danny Ocean’s Life: ‘Kelo Is the Light of the House’
Danny Ocean, the Venezuelan singer behind "Me Rehuso", has spoken about how getting his first pet, a toy Australian Shepherd named Kelo, has transformed his home life. He and his dog feature as the latest cover stars of Dogue México, Vogue's digital series celebrating pets, published on Thursday 20 August. Ocean, who had never owned an animal before, said the dog's arrival brought new light and warmth into the household he shares with his girlfriend, María del Mar.
Ocean and María del Mar adopted Kelo, whose name is a play on the Spanish greeting "¿Qué lo qué?", after spotting him on Instagram and deciding to expand their family of two. The singer described Kelo as playful, mischievous at night and protective of the house, and said he tries to bring the dog along to concerts and work commitments whenever he can, adding that being apart from him during tours has been difficult and that he would prefer never to leave home for more than two weeks at a time.
