Christian author Frank Turek has released a new book, "The War on Reality: Recovering Truth in a World that Celebrates Lies," co-written with Phoenix Hayes, marking a year since the murder of his close friend and mentee, Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk. Turek says Kirk's assassination reinforced his long-held conviction that a Christian worldview offers the truest account of reality, and the book aims to help Christians challenge secular cultural assumptions about family, gender, education and politics using logic and reasoning.

Kirk's widow, Erika, wrote the book's foreword, in which she reportedly explains that her husband's calm confidence during hostile campus debates stemmed from his religious certainty. Turek, who mentored Kirk in Christian apologetics from 2020 and was standing nearby when Kirk was shot dead at Utah Valley University on 10 September last year, uses the debate over transgender issues as a case study of what he calls the "war on reality," describing gender-affirming care for children as harmful. He hopes the book will encourage Christians and churches to speak out publicly and continue Kirk's legacy.
