The husband of a prominent Australian businesswoman has described how Melbourne "meth queen" Tess Rowlatt and convicted drug dealer Simon Simoudis caused the couple immense distress by secretly using their luxury Richmond apartment as a party venue, after Simoudis secured a lease using forged references. The widower, who has since lost his wife, says the ordeal has left him deeply unsettled almost two years on, highlighting how criminals were able to exploit rental vetting processes to gain access to a private home.

The couple began receiving complaints about all-night parties and suspicious visitors, and CCTV captured two "rough-looking thugs" forcing entry in a suspected drug and cash theft, while other tenants reported repeated police visits and the discovery of drug paraphernalia and forged documents. Simoudis had falsely claimed to be a Mayne Pharma employee, a claim the company denied when the couple's lawyer inquired; short-stay firm Luxico, which had vetted him, brought in Infolio Property Advisors to manage the lease, and the owners later took legal action against Luxico while pressuring police to remove the tenants. Simoudis, Rowlatt and associate Alex Talpau eventually left in June 2024, leaving the flat trashed and strewn with drugs, and Rowlatt has since been seen on bail sharing gym photos and a selfie with a new man on Instagram.
