Samsung unveiled its latest folding phones – the Galaxy Z Flip 8, Z Fold 8 and a new Z Fold 8 Ultra model – at its July 2026 Unpacked event, with the devices set to launch on 7th August. The line-up offers relatively few surprises over last year's models, aside from some design tweaks and AI features, though the introduction of a separate "Ultra" tier for the Fold gives buyers a genuine choice between a smaller, cheaper Fold 8 and a larger, more powerful Ultra variant.

The Z Fold 8 starts at $1,899.99 with a 7.6-inch main screen, 5.5-inch cover screen, a 50-megapixel main camera and a 4,800mAh battery, while the pricier $2,099.99 Fold 8 Ultra carries over the Fold 7's 8.0-inch main screen and 6.5-inch cover screen alongside a 200-megapixel camera with 3x optical zoom. Both come in 256GB, 512GB and 1TB configurations, with the top storage tier gaining 16GB of RAM instead of 12GB. The Z Flip 8, the cheapest of the three at $1,199.99, sees the least change, keeping the same battery and camera specs as its predecessor but switching from the Exynos 2500 to a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.
