How the UK Vape Duty Is Changing Vape Prices and Product Choices
The UK introduced Vaping Products Duty on 1 October 2026, charging businesses £2.20 for every 10ml of vaping liquid, whether it contains nicotine or not. The duty may affect what customers pay and the products they choose, but retail prices will vary because businesses set prices and face different costs.
The duty works out at 44p for 2ml of liquid and £2.20 for 10ml; these are duty amounts, not fixed price rises. Shoppers are advised to check liquid volume, what is included, device compatibility and replacement costs, as well as advertised puff counts. Duty stamps are required for most new products, while eligible older stock can be sold until 31 March 2027; from 1 April, products sold or supplied in the UK must carry a valid stamp. Single-use vapes have been banned from sale since 1 June 2025, while reusable devices remain available.
In short
- Vape duty is £2.20 per 10ml of liquid.
- Final price changes will differ between products and retailers.
- Check compatibility, package contents and duty stamps.
