How to get a portal pod in Pokémon Pokopia
Pokémon Pokopia's portal pod acts as universal storage, letting players access shared items from any pod placed anywhere in the game world, but obtaining one requires meeting specific in-game requirements. Players without the Bubbly Basin DLC must raise their Environment Level in Palette Town, likely to level 10, though Polygon has yet to confirm this. Those who own the DLC have a much quicker route, as two portal pods can simply be picked up in a house on the edge of Popplio's town.
Once a player has a portal pod, they can photograph it with the in-game camera's reference mode and use a 3D printer at any rebuilt Pokémon Center to create copies for five rare Pokémetal each, repeatable as often as materials allow. Portal pods work in linked pairs, so items stored in one placed in a location such as Withered Wasteland instantly appear in another pod carried to a different area like Bleak Beach, and vice versa. This makes them useful for stockpiling crafting materials in a single inventory slot, and, like other storage chests, pods placed near crafting benches let those benches pull materials automatically.
- Portal pods give Pokémon Pokopia players shared, universal item storage
- DLC owners can pick up two pods free in Popplio's town
- Non-DLC players likely need Environment Level 10 in Palette Town
