Pokopia players can obtain the rare Shiny Pearl in the Bubbly Basin region, though it requires a multi-step process rather than simple foraging. Because the item is needed for several in-game projects, players who don't know the correct sequence can easily get stuck trying to find it lying around the map, as it doesn't spawn there naturally.

Shiny Pearls are made by first collecting Grubby Pearls, which do spawn naturally across Bubbly Basin, then handing them to a Pokémon with the "Scrub" specialty via the "Scrub this for me, please!" dialogue option. Suitable Pokémon include Shellder, Cloyster, Sharpedo, Alomomola and Primarina, with Shellder and Sharpedo recommended as the easiest to summon early on by building specific habitats. After a waiting period for the cleaning to finish, players can return to collect their Shiny Pearls, and are advised to build Portal Pods to expand storage for the resource.
