How to kill enemies with a whip attack in Castlevania Belmont’s Curse
In *Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse*, players must use a precisely timed whip attack to complete a Work of Mercy and earn a Blessing point for upgrading the Holy Cross arcana. The whip is a tool rather than a weapon, but it can enhance an attack with any weapon.
After throwing the whip, press the attack button before it connects with an enemy; the brief timing window makes the character lunge forward with a distinct attack. Skeleton archers on Paris Streets and floating spirits in the Holy Innocents’ Cemetery are suggested targets because they are easier to practise against. One task requires killing 10 enemies this way, but the whip does not count towards a separate requirement to acquire three whip-type weapons.
- Time an attack immediately after throwing the whip.
- The move can be used with any equipped weapon.
- Kill 10 enemies this way for a Work of Mercy.

Castlevania is a series of action games about characters who fight monsters, often using weapons such as a whip. In Belmont’s Curse, players explore dangerous areas and complete optional challenges alongside the main adventure.
The game separates the whip from weapons that can be collected and equipped. Its special use in combat depends on timing, while weapon types are tracked separately for challenges and upgrades.
