How to unlock characters in DragonSword: Awakening
DragonSword: Awakening has launched on PC after a brief delay, and Destructoid has published a guide explaining how players can unlock characters for their team. Despite its gacha-like appearance, the game contains no microtransactions; every character can be unlocked purely through play, though not all are available from the outset, meaning progression is required to build a full roster.
Characters are unlocked using a currency called Fate's Invitation, redeemed via the Exchange menu, while some characters instead join automatically as quests are completed. Tickets are earned by finishing the Prologue (roughly a 15-minute task) and each subsequent chapter, as well as by completing Hero Quests, special missions tied to individual characters that unlock as the story progresses. Since chapters vary in length, players are advised to save up tickets rather than spend them immediately.
