How to unlock fast travel in Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse

Polygon ·

Fast travel in Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse becomes available when players meet the Boatman, allowing them to revisit places they have already explored. The feature arrives well into the game, so players must initially travel on foot when returning to earlier areas.

To reach the Boatman, players must defeat Medusa, Joan and The Fallen, collect their emblems and descend through the Catacombs. A mandatory encounter with Death ends in a scripted defeat; after guiding Rose back up, players reach a door leading to the Boatman, who can ferry them around Paris and the area unlocked after the fight.

  • Fast travel unlocks after meeting the Boatman.
  • Defeat three bosses and descend through the Catacombs.
  • The Boatman visits previously explored areas.

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse is an action-adventure game set in a fantasy version of Paris. Players explore connected areas, fight monsters and return to places they have visited as the story opens new routes.

The Boatman is a character who provides transport between explored locations. Until players reach him, they have to make return journeys on foot, so the timing of his arrival affects how they move through the game.
