The Grand Ole Opry is staging a special tribute to Dolly Parton on Saturday, 29 August, featuring country artists including Carly Pearce, Kathy Mattea and Molly Tuttle. The event recognises Parton’s long association with the Opry and her wider influence on country music, while also supporting her charitable work.
The performance begins at 7pm Central Time and will be available through the Opry’s Facebook and YouTube channels, RFD-TV and WSM Radio. A portion of ticket sales will benefit Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, the children’s reading programme she founded in 1995 and which now operates across five countries. Parton debuted at the Opry aged 13 in 1959 and became a member a decade later.
