HP’s OmniBook 5 14 takes on MacBook Neo with OLED screen
HP has unveiled the OmniBook 5 14, a laptop aimed at Apple’s MacBook Neo, with a starting price of $699.99. Its main draw is an OLED screen on every configuration, alongside a thinner and lighter design than the Neo; how it performs in practice, including its battery life, remains to be tested.
The base model has an Intel Core 5 315 processor, 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD. Higher configurations offer up to a Core 7 350, 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, while the base OLED panel is 1920 × 1200 with 300 nits of brightness; a brighter, higher-resolution option is due in March 2027. The OmniBook weighs 2.56 pounds and is 11.7mm thick, and is due to launch in October. HP also announced a thin ProBook 4 G2iS business laptop, coming in December, with no price announced.
