Authorities in South Australia have announced a $1 million reward for information leading to the discovery of four-year-old Gus Lamont, who disappeared on 27 September near Yunta. The reward has already prompted a significant public response, with police receiving 34 calls and two emails within the first day. Detective Superintendent Darren Fielke stated that investigators are pleased with the response and are assessing all reports for further investigation.

Gus has been missing for a year, and despite extensive land and air searches, he has not been found. Police believe someone known to the child may have killed him, either deliberately or accidentally, and that this person lived at Oak Park Station, 300 kilometres north of Adelaide. Gus's parents, Josh and Jess, released a video statement expressing their anguish and appealing for anyone with information to come forward, with the footage marking the first time Gus's father had spoken publicly about the disappearance.
