Huge queues of fans visit a very special Pulp pop-up pub in band’s home city of Sheffield
Developed over time first seen 2 hours ago
Fans queued for the midday opening of a Pulp-themed pop-up pub in Sheffield, as the band temporarily took over the Hallamshire Hotel. The event marked Pulp receiving a civic honour at Sheffield Town Hall and brought the group’s history back to a venue where they first played in 1980.
The pub featured posters and artwork from the band’s archive, alongside limited-edition T-shirts, posters and records for sale. Nick Banks and Candida Doyle met fans before the ceremony, while Jarvis Cocker recalled that he had been too young to enter a pub when Pulp first played there. The Sheffield event follows a similar Pulp pub residency in Manchester in August.
