Hull maintain flying start as Liam Millar’s winner ruins Coventry’s day

Hull City preserved their perfect Premier League start with a late 1-0 win at Coventry, following their surprise victory over Manchester United the previous week. Liam Millar’s 82nd-minute counterattacking goal denied Coventry their first point of the season on an emotional return to top-flight football at home after more than 25 years.

Coventry created the better chances but lacked a clinical finish, with Taiwo Awoniyi twice testing Hull goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis. Millar had earlier missed Hull’s clearest opening after overlooking Mohamed Belloumi, but made amends by beating Carl Rushworth late on; the result leaves Coventry with two consecutive defeats.
