Hull City have signed forward Joe Gelhardt from Leeds United and midfielder Lucas Gourna-Douath from Red Bull Salzburg for undisclosed fees. The deals strengthen the promoted Premier League side’s squad, taking their summer recruitment to 11 signings, while Gelhardt’s return follows an influential spell on loan at the club.

Gelhardt, 24, has agreed a four-year contract with a 12-month option after scoring 14 Championship goals last season, including Hull’s decisive second goal in their play-off semi-final against Millwall. Gourna-Douath, who has signed for five years, made 95 appearances for Salzburg after starting at Saint-Etienne and played 15 Ligue 1 matches on loan at Le Havre last season.
